Phish is (was?) good

This video was played in Boston for Phish’s 20th Anniversary show - if you have 30 minutes you should watch it.

Long time, no update

I know, I’ve got to be the worst blogger on the face of the planet. 4 months- no posts, no pictures, no updates period. Sorry about that. But, if you were really wondering what’s going on with me, just know that all has been well in the 4 months that I’ve been “hiding away” in Rochester.

Back in November, Carm and I picked up a 42″ plasma HDTV from Samsung. It was time for a new TV, so I figure we could’ve either gotten an OK tube TV for $400 (that I’d have to replace in a few years anyway) or a nice plasma/LCD set with a little planning. The Best Buy credit card helped me make my decision there [before/after].

In December Carm and I hooked up with Blockbuster and got “Total Access” - it’s basically Netflix, but you can return movies at the store for free rentals. Since there’s a Blockbuster not even a mile down the road this was perfect. We had our share of problems initially starting the service and then subsequently dealing with the actual site (it’s awful), but Blockbuster hooked us up with 2 months for just $7.95 per. We get at least 9 or 10 movies a month using this service, so this was more than worth it. We also had our first holiday season together (technically, anyway, since I spent the same time period in Jamaica last year). It was great to be able to spend some time with each others families and just by ourselves, even if we had to work basically all of the week following Christmas.

January came and went so fast, I’m not even sure what to write about it. I was able to snag a Nintendo Wii on Amazon at the beginning of the month - Wii Sports has provided us with endless hours of sheer entertainment. If you haven’t had an opportunity to play around with one or at least see a demonstration, you’re clearly missing out. 24 Season 6 premiered on Fox, and jack Bauer is as kick ass as ever. In a visit to Oswego I was able to catch up with Anthony and Deban as they visited from South Carolina and saw the house that Dufore/Peer/Jimi are currently taking refuge. In a trip to Buffalo, I met Carm’s friend Jan for the first time ever after hearing story after story about her for over a year.

February quickly became tax return month- after getting nice refunds from the government (you’re welcome for the interest-free loan, Dubya) Carm and I went on a little bit of a shopping spree. We basically replaced everything in the living room - coffee table, bookcase [before/after], new audio rack (to hold the new Onkyo receiver), new multimedia rack (to hold the ridiculous amount of DVDs and CDs that I apparently own). Oh and I almost forgot- GUITAR HERO. This game is pretty fantastic, and if you have $80 bucks and a PS2 there is no reason that you shouldn’t go out and buy it right now. Seriously.

So that’s more or less it from this side. I’d like to promise that I’ll make more updates on a regular basis, but knowing me that’s not likely to happen. We’ll see though.

Til next time.
