Harborfest ‘07

The weather improved and everyone survived (barely) as another Harborfest is in the books.

This year marked the very first Gongshow Golf Classic which featured a wide range of talent and emotions with each pair trying their hardest to not place last. The ensuing barbecue, featuring backyard games of washers, quickly turned hazardous with Fordy breaking his foot. Even walking took its toll after Beej nearly shattered his ankle trying to jump over a dog to get to a bathroom. All of this while Carm has been getting over a sprained ankle from 2 weeks ago.

All in all it was great weekend - we saw some great friends, caught some decent music, and saw some amazing fireworks (as per usual). My calves are still sore from all of the walking, but I’ve gotta say that it was more than worth it.

We tried to catch up with everyone we could, but as always it proved difficult. So to Kim and Kyle, Melissa and Nick (if you guys are even reading this), and the Jamaica crew, we’ll just have to wait ’til next year.

And now, some real cheese…

We’re talkin’ softball

If you’re a Simpsons and baseball fan like I am, you’ll enjoy this recent article by Jim Caple from ESPN.com’s Page 2. We literally just watched this episode sometime last month so it’s funny to see an article about it all of a sudden.

Well, Mr. Burns had done it
The power plant had won it
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while
Mike Scioscia’s tragic illness made us smile
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile
We’re talkin’ Softball
From Maine to San Diego
Talkin’ Softball
Mattingly and Canseco
Ken Griffey’s grotesquely swollen jaw
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law
We’re talkin’ Homer …
Ozzie, and the Straw

I can’t wait for this movie to come out. Now where is my nerve tonic…
