Papelbowned

papelbon.jpg Oh hi, Colorado, it’s the World Series. Remember me?

Oh of course you don’t. You were too busy renaming roads and celebrating your brief post season success - which, by the way, is about to come to an abrupt conclusion if you don’t wake up and start playing some real baseball. Game 2 was a good start, but you still look green. Not that I can blame you.

It’s highly unlikely that the Rockies will come back against Boston, a team that’s looked every bit of the “best team in baseball” tag that they carried all season long. Beckett is practically unhittable, Schilling conjured up some bloody sock magic, and Papelbon is eating their young children. The Rockies can talk about and thank God all they want, but even if Jesus Christ shows up at Coors Field this weekend it’s not likely going to be enough if Matt Holliday continues his carelessness at first base. It also doesn’t help that God is an AL fan.

I have to say though, that it was nice the Rockies kept game 2 interesting rather than being blown off the field again at Fenway. Maybe the winds at Coors Field can make some crazy things happen and we’ll see this series come back to Boston next week? it’s not entirely likely at all, but we’ve seen miracles in October before.
