The Syracuse Orange have been a lot of things in recent years - National Champions, Big East Champions, Sweet Sixteen attendees, etc. The one thing that they were last year that they weren’t the previous 3 or 4 years is boring…they were dreadfully boring for far too many stretches during games (and in crucial moments). Well, the future of Syracuse basketball has arrived in the form of Jonny Flynn (left) and Donte Green - two names that I’m sure all of you will know very well in about 3 years.
Flynn was fantastic the past two nights - on Monday he put on an offensive show, at one point scoring 9 points in a 60 second span. Tonight, he dribbled effectively in an out of a tough man to man defense to create plays and didn’t turn the ball over that much. He even hit the game winning 3 with 5 seconds left.
If there’s one thing these guys aren’t, it’s boring. Enjoy the season.

So, now over a week since we got back, I finally managed to post the pictures from the trip to Las Vegas. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.

We had a great time down there and managed not to go completely broke in the process. I’ve got to give a big thumbs up for hugely affordable vacations thanks to getting the plane tickets for my birthday (thanks Mom and Dad!) and being able to stay in a timeshare for free (thanks Uncle Lewis!).
The place is like a Disneyworld for adults except you spend a ton of money…so literally a Disneyworld for adults I guess? If you can’t have fun in Vegas then you’re just kidding yourself and you need to lighten up. Believe it or not, but there ARE other things to do there besides drink and gamble - but what’s more enticing than shoving $40 into a shiny greedy machine or tossing $200 down at a blackjack table without much chance of getting it back? The geography of the surrounding area is amazing (and kind of shocking - the view of the Grand Canyon you get on your way there is worth the ticket price).
We highly recommend this as a vacation spot for adults without any kind of children, though. There would be nothing worse than getting on a nice run at the Wheel of Fortune but having to go meet your kid after a movie at the hotel. Think about it!
